Last night, I rolled my mat out on the grass of a quiet farm. The late-summer air was crisp and cool. The air was thick with the smell of freshly cut grass and the last blooms of the wildflowers. The full moon began its slow climb into the sky. Practicing outside feels timeless. Feet grounded on the mat. Breath aligned with nature. Body moving in rhythm with something larger than myself.
In these moments, I am reminded that yoga has always been more than the physical practice to me. It is a way of returning. Returning to my body. Returning to my breath. Returning to myself.
My journey with yoga began more than 25 years ago. What started as a practice of stretching and moving has unfolded into a philosophy of living. Yoga has shown me that life, much like the practice itself, isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about presence. Meeting each moment with awareness, compassion, and intention.
One of the greatest lessons yoga has given me is this: we can always begin again.
The same is true in leadership. Projects don’t always go as planned. Teams stumble. Hard decisions sometimes lead to missteps. But leadership, like yoga, isn’t about flawless execution. It’s about pausing, reflecting, and realigning. It takes courage to course-correct when things drift off track. It takes humility to admit when it’s time to start fresh.
Practicing under the rising moon last night also reminded me of resilience. The quiet kind that doesn’t always look like pushing harder or holding the most difficult pose. Sometimes resilience shows up in softness: listening deeply, offering patience, or stepping back to find balance again.
Leadership requires that same balance of strength and compassion. The discipline to persist, paired with the grace to allow space for growth. The willingness to hold vision, while staying open to change.
Most importantly, yoga has taught me patience and compassion toward myself. It is easy to carry the weight of self-doubt. But growth—for people, for teams, for ourselves—isn’t linear. It ebbs and flows, like the moon itself. I know I have always been a lifelong learner and this has served me well personally and professionally. We are always in motion, always learning, always evolving toward fullness again.
Ultimately, how I do yoga is how I do life: with intention, integrity, and openness. With resilience when challenges arise, humility when success arrives, and the courage to begin again whenever it’s needed.
✨ We can always begin again. ✨
Especially when life feels heavy. Especially when the path forward seems uncertain.
For me, true strength comes from returning to my center, reconnecting with my values, and moving forward with clarity and purpose.
And so, under the glow of the full moon, I breathe. I reflect. I realign. Like the moon, I remember that fullness always returns.
And I begin again. 🌙
